We've had loads of great feedback from our participants, here's a few examples:
“I would like to say a huge thank you to you both for the tennis work you have done with my students this term. They are a complex group, but the activities and approach you have taken has been brilliant.
I have seen them grow in both confidence and skill during your time with them – and I think they have genuinely enjoyed the sessions – as have I. You have also shown me new ways of achieving with my class, including some equipment which has really enhanced their experience.” (A teacher at Highfield school)
“After 60 years of not playing tennis joining the walking tennis group has enabled me to enjoy the sport again. It is a fun supportive group and I have made new friends. It has helped me move forward in my life so thank you!” K (Walking Tennis participant)
“I had undiagnosed Ankylosing Spondylitis before I came to Walking Tennis. I wasn't active because it was too painful. In the past, I had loved playing tennis and thought I “I didn’t get a chance last week would never play again. However, thanks to Walking Tennis, I am now playing again, and it has been life-changing for me. Thanks to Walking Tennis, it has encouraged me to be more active.” L (Walking Tennis participant)
“I had never played tennis before and at 73 years thought I was too old. Joining walking tennis is now a very important part of my week. It is great fun a good gentle sport that is great for body and mental health because you learn a new skill and meet friendly people. I cannot get enough.” T (Walking Tennis participant)
"Having become very sedentary following bi-lateral T.K.R’s I found that from an extremely active perspective on life I suddenly became very lazy and began following the advice that I was given by the doctors and nurses that I should rest and not push myself to far and too fast. I found my way back into a very lazy perspective and it had a big impact upon my personal life, leading to my life changing at the time and my mental state dragging me down and into making the wrong decisions. I asked around and found that my G.P. service had a social prescriber and through her I found my way out of the doldrums and took to playing walking tennis, I was so very lucky to have met a great and extremely supportive group of people. It has changed my mental life and my physical life.” D (Walking Tennis participant)
